Huntington Ingalls Subsidiary Wins $135M to Maintain Navy Aircraft Carriers; Harris Leonard Comments

Huntington Ingalls w:borderA Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) subsidiary has won a potential five-year, $135 million contract to help the U.S. Navy maintain aircraft carriers and train personnel.

AMSEC LLC will work to repair and modernize shipboard elevators, cargo equipment and related systems within the Navy’s carriers, as well as to train operators, Huntington Ingalls said Thursday.

Harris Leonard, HII vice president and president of AMSEC operations, said AMSEC intends to help meet customer demands and fulfill the Navy’s requirements.

The subsidiary will perform work on aircraft carriers located in places such as Japan, San Diego, Norfolk, Va., and Bremerton and Everett, Wash.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contains a one-year base period and four one-year options that would extend work to December 2018.
