BlackBerry to Open DC Security Tech Innovation Hub

blackberry logoBlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY) will open an innovation center in Washington in an effort to help government and industry partners build mobile security platforms.

John Chen, BlackBerry’s CEO made the announcement during a speech Monday at a forum attended by lawmakers and other public sector officials at the Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas, the mobile device maker said Tuesday.

“We are committed to working with government and industry experts to solve some of the biggest challenges we face in securing mobile communication, ” Chen told his audience.

“The Washington, D.C.-based security innovation center will be focused on creating lasting partnerships that will encourage ongoing dialogue aimed at making better products and policy.”
