Michael Fraser Joins Artel as Business Development, Strategy VP

Michael Fraser, formerly an executive vice president at satellite communications vendor iDirect Government Technologies, has joined SATCOM contractor Artel as vice president of strategy and business development.

The 20-year Air Force veteran will oversee Artel’s front-end capture activities and also be responsible for developing strategies, Artel said Nov. 19.

He most recently served as EVP of iDirect’s satellite communications products and services business and is also a former division president at USIS, where he led that company’s security solutions and national security division.

Prior to USIS, he served as VP and general manager of the surveillance and reconnaissance systems business at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (NYSE: GD).

Fraser has also held leadership roles Sytel, Trident Data Systems and  Veridian,

He retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel in 1993 after a 20-year career.
