Mark Gerencser, a former executive vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) and current chairman of PC services firm Cyberspa, has joined the board of directors at Sotera Defense Solutions.
The 30-year Booz Allen veteran retired from the firm this year and helped found CyberSpa in 2010.
Matt Cwiertnia, Sotera chairman, said Gerencser brings experience in national security and cyberspace initiatives to the company as it aims to grow its market presence.
In his most recent Booz Allen role, Gerencser led the firm’s consulting practice in the financial, health and energy industries and focused on issues related to cybersecurity, business and information technology transformation and risk mitigation.
He has also served as managing director of the firm’s U.S. and international government business and served as chairman of the firm’s partnership committee.
Gerencser served six terms on the company’s board of directors and also helped to launch the homeland security practice and the Infrastructure Center of Excellence.
Gerencser authored the best-selling book “Megacommunities” where he advocated for unity between public, private and civil sector leaders in order to solve the world’s problems.
