The re-compete contract was awarded by EPA’s Office of Research and Development to help the National Center for Environmental Assessment evaluate chemical dangers and other environmental triggers and covers a one year base period and four option years that can be exercised, ICF said Tuesday.

Jennifer Welham, vice president at ICF International, said the company will work to provide the support and technologies required by EPA to advance human health risk assessment plans.

“EPA needs the best available scientists, data management tools, and communication practices to keep pace with rapidly advancing methodology, large amounts of data, and demands for transparency, ” she added.

The company also plans to help create models, databases, guidance documents and methods related to health risk evaluation and to provide support for EPA’s Integrated Risk Information System, which is intended to house toxicity reference data.
