David Walker to Retire as MAXIMUS CFO; Richard Montoni Comments

MaximusDavid Walker, chief financial officer at MAXIMUS (NYSE: MMS) for seven years, plans to retire from his CFO and treasurer roles upon the appointment of his successor.

Executive recruitment firm Korn Ferry has been hired to search for Walker’s successor and he will move into a part-time position supporting CEO Richard Montoni by December 2014, MAXIMUS said Monday.

The Washington Business Journal selected Walker earlier this year as a recipient of the publication’s “CFO of the Year” award (click over to GovCon Executive for our previous coverage).

“David has served as a valued member of the senior leadership team and played an integral part in developing the long-term strategy for the company, ” Montoni said.

Montoni added that Walker worked with business leaders to increase margins and also developed practices that aimed to improve the company’s financial results during his tenure.

Walker, a 25-year financial management veteran, previously served as VP and controller for MAXIMUS for four years prior to becoming CFO.

He served as SVP, CFO and controller for LCC International before joining MAXIMUS and is also a former VP and corporate controller for BAE Systems in North America.
