Dave Schmitz: Cubic Defense Award ‘Reinforces Growing Footpint’ in Asia Pacific

A Cubic Corp. (NYSE: CUB) subsidiary has won a combat training equipment order from an Asia Pacific customer worth more than $70 million.

Cubic Defense Systems will build laser-based simulation tools, vehicle kits, weapon configurations, fire systems and backup equipment for the customer, Cubic said Wednesday.

“This contract from a long-term customer reinforces our extensive and growing footprint in the Asia Pacific region, ” Dave Schmitz, president of Cubic Defense Systems, said.

The order includes accessories, communication system parts, post-action review technologies and exercise control upgrades.

Cubic will perform the work at various sites including its facilities in Auckland, New Zealand, and in San Diego, Calif., and the order is scheduled for delivery beginning in late 2014 through 2016.
