Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) and Finmeccanica have agreed to combine both companies’ technology offerings for the defense and civil customers in an effort to pursue business opportunities in the systems integration market worldwide.
Finmeccanica’s industry services will be integrated with Cisco’s information technology, networking and communications technologies in order to jointly develop services for the defense, security, aerospace and smart connected cities sector’s, Finmeccanica said Wednesday.
Cisco will use Finmeccanica’s technology and products, including machine learning and analytics forecasting to manage building structures as part of the agreement. 
Finmeccanica will work to leverage Cisco’s networking, design and engineering services, as well as networking tools and infrastructure for the partnership.
Italy-based Finmeccanica’s sales and engineering teams will also have access to Cisco’s sales and technology training programs, as well as to Cisco’s technologies for integration into Finmeccanica’s systems and services.
The companies will jointly resell networking technologies and build new services under the partnership.
