Rockwell Collins Sells Kaiser Optical Systems Subsidiary; Kelly Ortberg, Klaus Endress Comment

KellyOrtbergRockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) has sold its Kaiser Optical Systems subsidiary to Endress+Hauser Holding for an undisclosed amount, Avionics Intelligence reported Saturday.

Courtney Howard writes Kaiser Optical Systems, Rockwell Collins Government Systems’ avionics business unit, manufactures spectrographic instrumentation and applied holographic tools at sites in Ann Arbor, Michigan and Lyon, France.

Kelly Ortberg, Rockwell Collins CEO and president, told the publication the divestiture is part of the company’s efforts to pursue growth opportunities in targeted markets.

Rockwell Collins acquired Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Kaiser Optical Systems in 2000 when it bought K Systems Inc., according to the report.
