Cathy Rice Named Northrop Aerospace Systems Contracts VP; Ken Bedingfield Comments

Cathy Rice, formerly director of contracts for military aircraft systems for Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), has been promoted to vice president of contracts, pricing and program business operations for the company’s aerospace systems sector.

In her previous role, Rice helped lead negotiations for the company’s $1.7 billion contract with NATO covering five Global Hawk unmanned aircraft and related surveillance system components,  Northrop said Thursday.

Rice will work with Ken Bedingfield, the sector’s vice president and chief financial officer, and help provide oversight and guidance to functional personnel for operations,

“Cathy brings more than 30 years of invaluable business management experience to this position, ” Bedingfield said.

She will also lead an organization responsible for contracts, pricing and estimating, cost and schedule management and functions related to International Traffic in Arms Regulations/Export and risk management.

Rice previously led contract activities with U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force customers for products such as the E-2D Hawkeye, E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System, B-2 Spirit and mine warfare technologies.

She has also worked with with industry partners on F/A-18, EA-18G and F-35 programs.
