Harris to Install VA Medical Center Wireless Network; Wayne Lucernoni Comments

Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) has won the final and third phase of a potential four-year, $60 million contract to provide a wireless network platform for Department of Veterans Affairs medical centers.

The VA aims to expand mobile device usage for 112 medical centers and connect healthcare providers to data at any time from any location under the program, Harris said Thursday.

Wayne Lucernoni, president of Harris IT Services, said the company will build networks for 46 sites under the third phase.

Harris’ team will work to design and install a platform for voice, video, data, location-based services and electronic health records.

Subcontractors AMSG,  By Light,  C-CAT,  DTREDS,  Mason Technologies and Synaptek will work with Harris for the program’s third phase.

Under the first two phases, Harris deployed wireless networks at 66 sites across the country.
