Grant Thornton Buys MarketSphere’s Oracle Unit; Stephen Chipman Comments

Grant Thornton W:borderGrant Thornton has acquired MarketSphere‘s Oracle solutions unit as part of plans to grow its consulting business.

That 160-employee business unit will be absorbed by Grant Thornton’s technology solutions practice under the firm’s business advisory services, Grant Thornton said Tuesday.

“This transaction positions Grant Thornton to continue its focused growth, ” said Stephen Chipman, CEO of Grant Thornton.

MarketSphere is a platinum-level member of Oracle’s PartnerNetwork and works with Oracle’s Enterprise Resource Planning, Human Capital Management, Enterprise Performance Management and Business Intelligence product suites.

The company is a recipient of the 2012 Oracle Excellence Award for Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing and the 2012 Oracle Fusion Middleware Innovation Award for Business Analytics.
