Jaime Ardila, a 25-year veteran of General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM), has joined Accenture Plc’s (NYSE: ACN) board of directors and will work with the finance committee.
Accenture’s board now consists of 12 directors, 11 external and independent directors and Chairman and CEO Pierre Nanterme who serves as the only internal director, Accenture said Wednesday.
Nanterme said Ardila will aim to help Accenture drive its strategy and operations in order to deliver services to customers and shareholders.
Ardila, a member of the General Motors Executive Committee, reports to GM’s CEO as executive vice president and president of the company’s South American operations.
He most recently served as GM’s president for operations in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay after departing from his previous role as VP and CFO for the Latin America, Africa and Middle East region.
Ardila also previously worked for N M Rothschild & Sons Ltd. for two years and rejoined GM in 1998.
His appointment to the board is subject to renewal at Accenture’s next annual shareholders general meeting, the company says.
