Air Force Awards Four Spots for Target ID Tech R&D Program

FireControlRadarFour companies have won positions on a potential $24, 375, 000 U.S. Air Force contract covering research and development work into target recognition technology.

The Air Force intends to award five R&D contracts for the Compact Automatic Target Recognition and Sustainable Environment program and received seven offers, the Defense Department said Thursday.

This round of research work aims to reduce template and database dimensionality for single and multi-phenomenology ATR functions, the Pentagon said.

Awardees include:

  • BAE Systems
  • KEYW Corp.
  • Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI)
  • Raytheon (NYSE: RTN)

BAE will receive $400, o00 in fiscal year 2013 research and development funds at the time of award and $500, 000 will go to KEYW, Raytheon and SAIC.
