Unisys Wins $460M to Maintain CBP Software Systems; Steve Soroka Comments

Unisys logoUnisys Corp. (NYSE: UIS) has won a potential $460 million contract to operate and maintain software systems for the Customs and Border Protection agency.

The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract includes one base year and four one-year options, a Monday FedBizOpps notice says.

Company personnel will analyze, design, program and integrate tests of automated systems as part of the systems engineering lifecycle.

Steve Soroka, group vice president for homeland security at Unisys federal systems, said the company has had a working relationship with the agency of more than 10 years.

Unisys will work with CBP’s border enforcement and management systems (BEMS) program office, which falls within the agency’s information and technology office.

BEMS systems support CBP’s activities ranging from its public website to core personnel and financial management systems to applications that track and record border intercepts and seized property.

The company will work to configure CBP’s commercial-off-the-shelf software and customer software coding.
