Northrop Wins $294M for Torpedo Components, Foreign Sales Included

northrop Grumman_BLUENorthrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has won a potential $294, 384, 741 contract to produce first articles and functional item replacement level components for array kits on torpedoes.

Fifty-two percent of purchases are for the U.S. Navy, along with 41 percent for the governments of Australia and India under the foreign military sales program, the Defense Department said Thursday.

The Navy received two offers for the firm-fixed price, cost-plus-fixed fee, cost-type contract via its e-commerce website and the FedBizOpps website.

Work also includes engineering services, hardware repair support, test equipment, spares, production support material and warranty options.

The company will perform 40.5 percent of work in Liticz, Pa., 30.9 percent in Annapolis, Md. and the remaining 28.6 percent in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The Navy is obligating $45, 987, 322 in fiscal year 2012 and 2013 weapons procurement and foreign military sales funds at the time of award and no funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
