Accenture to Help SEC Update Oracle IT Applications; Ed Meehan Comments

Accenture Federal Services (NYSE: ACN) has won a position on a potential $64 million blanket purchase agreement contract to update Oracle-based (NASDAQ: ORCL) applications for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC awarded the BPA as an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with one base year and four one year options,   Accenture said Monday.

The agency seeks to modernize and consolidate its information technology networks to facilitate online activities and data transmission, Accenture says.

Ed Meehan, Accenture’s federal civilian agency portfolio head, said the company aims to help the agency connect its customers to information, services and benefits through technology.

Accenture has qualified for work under the BPA for areas such as systems integration and maintenance, IT architecture management and business consulting
