Harris Wins $92M 4G LTE Middle East Contract

HARRISHarris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) has won a $92 million contract to provide a tactical communications system to an unnamed country in the Middle East for coordinating command and control operations in defense missions.

Fusion 4G LTE aims to help Internet Protocol-based data networks work with maps, email and other voice and video messages during military and security missions, Harris said Sunday.

Harris also developed Fusion to match the specifications of its Falcon III radios, which are intended for tactical communications.

The company will install base stations and subscriber terminals and aim to facilitate wireless connections for private cellular services through 4G long-term evolution technology.
