General Dynamics Wins Army Intell Systems Order

GDlogoGeneral Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) C4 systems business unit has won a potential $31.5 million order from the U.S. Army for 10 intelligence systems that will be mounted on vehicles.

The order includes an option for 11 additional Tactical Ground Station Lot D systems and the company intends to deliver the systems to the Army during the third quarter of 2013, General Dynamics said Wednesday.

Army analysts use the TGS systems for the Distributed Common Ground System-Army, the branch’s system for gathering and distributing ISR data (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) to analysts and commanders.

TGS-Lot D systems are intended to help analysts examine classified and unclassified records so commanders view status updates on persons of interests and threats such as improvised explosive devices, the company says.

The systems are also designed to be interoperable between other U.S. military, NATO and coalition ground systems.
