Northrop to Update Navy Data Link Processor

NorthropLogoNorthrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has won a potential $95 million contract to update a communications and data link processor that aims to inform U.S. Navy personnel of friendly and enemy activities during combat.

The indefinite-quantity/indefinite-delivery contract from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command contains five years and an option to extend for two more years,  Northrop said Friday.

Under the technology refresh project, the company will develop and upgrade hardware and software for the Navy’s Next-Generation Command and Control Processor and also provide engineering support to the Navy.

GET Engineering, FUSE Integration and Technology Unlimited Group are helping Northrop carry out the project work as members of the NGC2P contracting team.

Northrop first won a contract in 2008 to develop the processor.
