Mark Hewitt Promoted to QNA EVP, Chief Strategy Officer; JD Crouch Comments

Mark Hewitt, former senior vice president for technology solutions strategy at QinetiQ North America, has been promoted to executive vice president and chief strategy officer.

Hewitt will be responsible for developing strategies and will also oversee QNA’s defense and commercial innovation programs, the company said Wednesday.

He will also oversee the company’s corporate development, strategic investments and business development activities.

“Mark will play a central role in assessing our core markets, crafting our business strategy, identifying new opportunities and driving growth, ” said J.D. Crouch, QNA CEO.

Hewitt joined QNA in January 2010 as SVP for technology solutions strategy and most recently served as EVP of operations and strategic development for the technology solutions group.

He has also led the company’s maritime and transportation division.

Before joining QNA, Hewitt served as the defense and intelligence program leader of the Energy Department‘s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

He has also served as the Defense Department’s deputy assistant secretary for continuity and crisis management, as well as head of the FBI’s interagency cyber intelligence unit.
