Harris Wins New Asia Tactical Radio Order

Harris logo_GovConWireHarris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) has won a $29 million order to provide wideband tactical radios to an unidentified nation in Asia.

That country’s armed forces is buying the Falcon III radios for transmitting data across the country and for its overall modernization plans, the company said Monday.

Harris says the RF-7800H high-frequency wideband manpack and RF-7800W High-Capacity Line-of-Sight radios are designed to transmit video images over beyond-line-of-sight links.

These radios are 20 percent smaller than other HF radios and also contain data rates of 10 times greater than the HF radios, according to Harris.
