General Dynamics Wins Hartford Submarine Dry Dock Award

GDlogoGeneral Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) Electric Boat subsidiary has won a $9, 504, 885 contract modification to continue maintenance and modernization work on a U.S. Navy submarine.

The modification covers fiscal year 2013 dry-docking selected restricted availability of the USS Hartford, the Defense Department said Friday.

Work will include maintenance activities, upgrades and modernization efforts aimed to ensure the submarine is operates at full technical capacity, according to the Pentagon.

Electric Boat will perform work in Groton, Conn. and Quonset Point, R.I. through September 2013 and the subsidiary will receive all contract funds at the time of award.

The Navy is obligating operations and maintenance funds from fiscal year 2013 for the contract.
