Frank Ruggiero, a former vice president of international government relations at BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary, has been appointed VP of federal government relations.
Ruggiero, who joined BAE in 2012, will oversee BAE’s relationships with officials in Congress, the Defense Department, Cabinet-level organizations and other state leaders.
Linda Hudson, president and CEO, said Ruggiero will aim to help BAE anticipate challenges to customers resulting from constrained budgets through his knowledge of national security policy and building partnerships with government officials.
Before joining BAE, Ruggiero served in U.S. government positions for more than 20 years, most recently as senior deputy special representative and deputy assistant secretary of state for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He has also served as senior U.S. official in Southern Afghanistan and led U.S. arms sales to the country as acting secretary of state and principal deputy assistant secretary of state for political military affairs
Ruggiero served in the Ohio Army National Guard before his civil service career.
