Walter S. Page III, a division counsel at Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC), has been promoted to vice president, associate general counsel and sector counsel for the aerospace systems sector.

Effective April 1, he will succeed the retiring Georgetta Wolff and report to Sheila Cheston, corporate vice president and general counsel, the company said Wednesday.

Prior to being promoted, he served as division counsel for the sector’s advanced development programs division.

Cheston said Page has provided legal advice to the company for more than 20 years.

In his new role, Page will serve as primary legal counsel to the aerospace systems sector president, currently Thomas Vice,   and senior staff.

He will also manage delivery of legal advice and law department support throughout the sector’s sites programs and subsidiaries.

Legal matters under his responsibility include government contracts, business development, litigation, investigations, environmental, trademarks and intellectual property, employment, audit and compliance.

Page joined Northrop in 2002 upon that company’s acquisition of TRW and subsequently held positions in the former space technology sector prior to his division counsel role.

He served as senior counsel in Germany for TRW and has also worked at both Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom and Jenkens & Gilchrist in the corporate and corporate restructuring groups.
