Lockheed Wins $161M For Apache Laser System Upgrades

LockheedLogoLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has won two U.S. Army production contracts worth $161.7 million combined to continue updating electro-optical fire control systems on Apache helicopters.

The Army ordered 482 Modernized Day Sensor Assembly Modernized Laser Rangefinder Designator kits and spares under the contracts, which cover production lots two and three, Lockheed said Wednesday.

In February 2012, the Army ordered 92 M-DSA M-LRFD kits and spares under lot one and the company will deliver the first of those units in early 2013.

Production will continue through the third quarter of Lockheed’s 2016 fiscal year out of its missiles and fire control facilities in Ocala and Orlando, Fla.
