Brian McHugh Joins ManTech as Program Development VP; Bill Varner Comments

Brian McHugh, a 28-year intelligence community veteran and former FBI and CIA official, has joined ManTech International (NASDAQ: MANT) as vice president of program development and risk management.

He will be responsible for developing and implementing national security programs and supporting homeland security programs, ManTech said Wednesday.

McHugh will also advise the company’s board of directors and executives on mitigating risks to operations worldwide.

Before joining the company, he served as associate executive assistant director of the FBI’s national security branch and has also served as a chief of station in several Middle East- and Europe-based locations for the CIA.

“ManTech is excited to welcome Brian to our team, ” Bill Varner, president and chief operating officer of the mission, cyber and intelligence solutions group.

“He brings a unique understanding of the intelligence community’s diversity, ” he added.

While at the FBI, he oversaw operations involving counterterrorism, counterintelligence, weapons of mass destruction and cybersecurity and supported domestic and international operations to terrorists and prevent attacks.

During his CIA service, he managed programs to combat international terrorism, weapons proliferation, counterintelligence and cyber threats against the U.S.

According to ManTech, he worked with allied governments, senior U.S. military leaders and policymakers on those programs that had congressional oversight.

He brings knowledge of the Middle East, South Asia, Eastern Europe and the Balkans regions to ManTech, the company says.
