BAE Systems‘ U.S. subsidiary has appointed Dave Herr, president of the support solutions sector, to serve as executive vice president of the service sectors, effective immediately.
Herr will lead the support solutions sector until the company names a successor, BAE said Thursday.
He will also join Linda Hudson, president and CEO, and Tom Arseneault, executive vice president of product sectors and chief technology officer, to form a new office of the president and CEO.
In his new capacity, Herr will be responsible for developing and implementing business strategies for the intelligence and security and support solutions sectors to pursue opportunities in U.S. and international markets.
“Throughout his career, Dave has directed complex, global organizations to fulfill critical and technologically challenging missions in both the service and product sectors, ” Hudson said.
“I look forward to working with Dave in his new role at a time when the entire BAE Systems Inc. leadership team is focused on ensuring that BAE Systems is positioned to identify, pursue, and capture existing and emerging opportunities, ” he added.
As support solutions president, he leads more than 12, 500 employees that provide air, land and maritime services to U.S. defense and federal civilian customers.
His previous positions also include VP of commercial avionics for the platform solutions business and VP of operations in that business.
He also has served as VP of operations for the former electronics and integrated solutions operating group.
