SAIC Wins Spot on $240M Army Environmental Support IDIQ; JT Grumski Comments

SSAIC_logocience Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAI) has won a prime position on a potential $240 million contract to help the U.S. Army run environmental cleanup programs nationwide.

The company said the multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a five-year base period.

SAIC will compete for task orders to provide the Army Environmental Command technical and regulatory development work for addressing issues surrounding environmental cleanup work.

“This contract award represents a tremendous opportunity for SAIC to develop and apply solutions to difficult environmental problems and insure the safety of military communities, ” said JT Grumski, a senior vice president and business unit general manager.

SAIC said the USAEC leads and executes Army cleanup and environmental quality programs and provides technical services for soldier readiness and military communities.

The company, along with Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH), is also helping the Army manage its chemical weapons inventory under a potential $489 million contract.
