Northrop to Provide Navy Aircraft Navigation System

NorthropLogoNorthrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has won a five-year, $13, 172, 882 contract to provide the U.S. Navy an inertial navigation system for five classes of aircraft, the Defense Department said Friday.

Five percent of funds under the performance-based-logistics and firm-fixed-price requirements contract will support foreign military sales agreements with Egypt, France, Japan, Malaysia and Taiwan.

The company will provide its AN/ASN-139 Carrier Aircraft Inertial Navigation System for C-2A, E-2C, F-18, S-3 and TAV-8B aircraft.

Northrop will perform 75 percent of work in Woodland Hills, Calif. and the rest in Salt Lake City through Jan. 25, 2018.

The Navy is obligating no funds at the time of award and funds will not expire before the end of the current fiscal year.

The Naval Supply Systems Command’s weapons system support office in Philadelphia is the contracting activity.
