Northrop to Manufacture Army Targeting, Data Relay System; Gordon Stewart Comments

northrop-grumman-logoNorthrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has won a $9.2 million contract to provide the U.S. Army targeting systems for providing data to command and control centers, the company said Monday.

Under the three-year contract, the company will produce its Hand Held Precision Targeting Devices, which contains a navigation module.

Gordon Stewart, vice president and general manager of the laser systems business unit, said the company used its experience building the Lightweight Laser Designator Rangefinder IIH to build the HHPTD.

Northrop said it has produced more than 25, 000 electro-optic laser systems for ground vehicles and airborne platforms such as helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

The company is producing infrared components for the AN/AAQ-24(V) Large Aircraft Infrared system under a $463 million contract.
