Northrop to Help Maintain Airborne Communications for E-11A Aircraft

Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has won a $48, 176, 543 U.S. Air Force contract for platform maintenance on E-11A aircraft, the Defense Department announced Thursday.

The company’s maintenance work is for the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node Program, under which the company won $156 million in modifications over the summer.

That award, announced in July, covers the installation of the nodes on three E-11A aircraft and three Global Hawk drones.

Northrop is the prime contractor for the Global Hawk and development, fielding and maintenance of the BACN system.

Work under the most recent award will occur at Kandahar Air Base in Afghanistan through February 2018 and Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass. s the contracting activity.
