Raytheon Wins $129M for Army Air, Missile Defense Kit

Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has won a $129 million contract to help the U.S. Army implement an integrated air and missile defense kit, the Defense Department announced Tuesday.

Contract work will support the Army’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense Component Plug and Fight A-Kit and occur in Huntsville, Ala. through June 25, 2015.

The Waltham, Mass.-based missile maker also holds a $125.3 million contract, awarded by the Air Force and Missile Defense Agency, to update the branch’s early warning radar system based in Clear, Alaska.

Upgrades will include integrating targeting data into the large phased-array radars, which use the data for shooting down incoming ballistic missiles.
