L-3 Completes $130M Buy of Thales Civil Aircraft Unit; Michael Strianese Comments

L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) has completed its estimated $130 million acquisition of Thales Training & Simulation Ltd.’s civil aircraft simulation and training business, L-3 announced Tuesday.

<p>LPublic Law-3 has renamed the business L-3 Link Simulation & Training U.K. Limited and integrated itInformation Technology into the company’s link simulation and training division, within the electronic systems group.

The business is headquartered in Crawley, U.K. and has a global customer base, the company said.

In, L-3 said itInformation Technology expected civil aircraft training and simulation to bring in close to $150 million in sales for the 12 months ending Dec. 31, 2012.

This acquisition factors into L-3′s expansion plans for the civil simulation market, CEO Michael Strianese said in April.
