Harris Wins $296M for SPAWAR Radios

Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) has won a $296, 701, 117 contract to provide the U.S. Navy several configurations of the company’s mobile and fixed radios, the Defense Department announced Thursday.

The company will provide AN/PRC-117, AN/PRC-150 and AN/PRC-152 radios and accessories in the handheld, manpack, fixed mount, vehicular and base station configurations.

Work under the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will occur in Rochester, N.Y. and the Pentagon expects the work to finish by Sept. 30, 2017.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command selected Harris via electronic commerce.

Harris is one of several contractors in the running for the Navy’s Next Generation Enterprise Network contract, which SPAWAR estimates could be worth nearly $4.5 billion over five years.

The company formed a team with Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE: CSC), General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and Verizon (NYSE: VZ) to pursue NGEN against a team led by incumbent Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ).
