Reveal Imaging Wins TSA Explosive Detection Systems Award Under $127M SAIC Contract

The Transportation Security Administration has awarded Reveal Imaging Technologies Inc., an SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI) company, a $20 million delivery order contract to support explosive detection systems.

The order for systems equipment, installation, training and maintenance services has three base years and was awarded under a $127 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract SAIC holds for related work.

That IDIQ has a five-year performance period and will also support CT-80DR+ Reduced-Size Explosive Detection Systems.

Alexander Preston, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said the partnership with TSA will aim improve to the safety of U.S. air travel and alert security officers if the system detects any potential explosive materials in luggage.

Under the contract, SAIC will design, develop, test, evaluate and provide manpower training and support for the RSEDS.
