Tania Hanna, Harris

Harris Corp. (NYSE: HRS) announced Thursday it has appointed Tania Hanna vice president of government relations, to succeed Peter Challan, who was appointed VP of industry-specific programs in Harris’ mission critical networks business.

Hanna joined the company in 2003 and most recently served as VP of policy and legislative affairs.

In her new position, she will lead company relations with Washington-area representatives of Congress, the executive branch and the defense and aerospace industry.

She will also manage relationships with international government agencies.

President and CEO William Brown said Hanna has the industry knowledge and experience to maintain important relationships on behalf of Harris’ work on 300-plus U.S. government programs.

She has previously served as a senior associate with a Washington law firm, as a senior attorney at the Federal Communications Commission and as general counsel for a small Internet startup company.
