Salient Wins $80M Army SATCOM Support Contract; Bill Parker Comments

Salient Federal Solutions Inc. has won a potential $80 million contract to provide communications support to intelligence, defense, homeland security and cyber agencies.

The company said the three-year, recompete contract was awarded under the global command terrestrial communications satellite support program.

The company will provide information technology and engineering support services to the Defense Department and Program Manager for Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems.

COO Bill Parker said the company has helped PM DCATS since its inception.

The company has been a subcontractor for PM DCATS under the joint network node and GCTC programs for six years.

PM DCATS directs the installation, maintenance and modernization of strategic long-haul communication transmission systems.

Salient’s command center network solutions business unit, which conducts systems engineering, installation, testing and installation services, will complete the work.

The company recently purchased ATS Corp., giving the company access to the civilian side of the federal market, CEO Brad Antle recently told GovCon Wire.
