SAIC Wins $57M for SPAWAR Comm Systems

SAIC Inc. (NYSE: SAI) has won a potential $57 million prime contract to produce a tactical communications system for the U.S. Navy and joint forces.

The McLean, Va.-based engineering and contracting firm said the contract with the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command has one base-year and four one-year options.

SAIC will provide the branch with the Battle Force Tactical Network system to connect the Navy and joint forces in maritime environments.

Also, the company will provide engineering and technical services and perform work in Sterling, Va.

Recently, the company appointed Tony Moraco president of its intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance group.

He succeeded Stu Shea, who was promoted to the chief operating officer post.
