SafeNet Taps Former Harris Sr. Counsel Molina to Head Legal Affairs

SafeNet Inc. has appointed Mark Molina as senior vice president, chief legal officer and secretary, effective immediately.

Molina will supervise worldwide legal affairs and serve as secretary for the board of directors and report to SafeNet CEO Chris Fedde.

The Belcamp, Md.-based information security company appointed Fedde as president and CEO in June 2011.

Fedde said Molina’s experience with public and private securities offerings, SEC reporting and compliance obligations and mergers and acquisitions aligns with the company’s plans for expansion.

Molina’s areas of experience also include intellectual property and efforts to protect that property.

Molina succeeds Ken Siegel, who left the company after two years as chief legal officer to pursue other opportunities.

Molina most previously worked with global identification solutions company L-1 Identity Solutions Inc. as executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary and chief compliance and ethics officer.

He also served at Identix Corp. as executive vice president, chief legal officer and secretary and as senior counsel at Harris Corp.
