Lockheed Wins $166M Army Contract for Fire Finder Radars

Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) won a $166, 044, 028 U.S. Army contract to produce radar systems for defending against rockets, mortars and artillery, the Defense Department announced Tuesday.

The Bethesda, Md.-based contractor won a potential $881 million contract in early March to produce the AN/TPQ-36 Fire Finder radars.

That radar is currently in production and has been used in combat situations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The contract handed down Tuesday calls for the company to provide associated spare parts, training materials and testing.

The company’s ’s mission systems and sensors will manufacture the radar systems in Liverpool, N.Y.

The Pentagon expects work to finish on Feb. 28, 2017.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command in Fort Monmouth, N.J., is the contracting activity for the firm-fixed-priced contract.
