The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking to move email and office software to cloud computing, according to a request for information posted Friday.
The VA said it wants use the Cloud-Based Office Automation and Collaboration Pilot to implement automated and interoperable cloud-based office software.
The VA plans for the pilot run between six and 12 months.
Vendors submitting white papers should address how the VA can automate cloud-based office information technology services such as email, word processing, presentations, databases and spreadsheets.
VA is also seeking collaborative tools such as instant messaging and endpoint-to-endpoint audio conferencing and collaborative writing and editing platforms.
The VA is requiring proposals adhere to Federal Information Security Management Act standards.
The VA is accepting responses by March 15.
