General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has completed its purchase of Force Protection Inc., a manufacturer of blast and ballistic-protected products, for around $360 million, or $5.52 per share in cash.
The company said in a release it launched the tender offer Nov. 18 following the Nov. 7 announcement of the proposed acquisition. Offer and withdrawal rights expired as scheduled on Friday.
General Dynamics said it expects the acquisition to increase its earnings in 2012. Force Protection will become a part of General Dynamics’ land systems business unit upon completion of the acquisition.
