MarkLogic has been selected to power the Federal Aviation Administration‘s emergency response and severe weather tracking system with big data solutions.
FAA’s main challenge with its emergency operations network is handling the variety and velocity of data that enters it, said Randall Jackson, vice president of MarkLogic’s public sector operations.
The company said its offerings rapidly organize many data inputs to accelerate reaction time and capabilities.
“This data has multiple file types and is coming in at a very rapid rate over a short period of time, so the most important part of the solution is making the data available as quickly as possible, ” said Jackson.
“A decision can either save lives, or make things worse, that’s why you need to trust the information you’re getting and know which 10 percent is the 10 percent you need to be paying attention to, ” said MarkLogic CEO Ken Bado.
