GTSI Turns Page, Names Sterling Phillips CEO

The board of directors at GTSI Corp. (NASDAQ: GTSI) has named Sterling E. Phillips, Jr. president and CEO.

An industry veteran, Phillips served as CEO of Analex Corp. for six years until the firm was acquired by QinetiQ NA.

“I am grateful to the board for their confidence in me to lead GTSI during this critical time in the transformation of the company,” Phillips said. “Our focus will be the execution of an effective strategy to accelerate the company’s growth, particularly in services. I look forward to working with the dedicated employees of GTSI to continue the growth and expansion of our offerings to government customers.”

Phillips replaces Scott Friedlander, who resigned following the firm’s brief suspension from federal contracting last month.
