SAIC (NYSE: SAI) won a new prime contract from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Office of the Chief Information Officer, to support the Virtual Government (vGov) project by providing virtual world software products.

According to SAIC, “the multiple award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance, three one-year options and a total ceiling value of $18 million for all awardees. Work will be performed primarily in Orlando, Fla. and San Mateo, Calif.”

“We look forward to applying SAIC’s OLIVE platform and our 20 years of experience in modeling, simulation and training to support the development of innovative virtual world solutions that support the USDA and cross-agency operations for the U.S. Government,” said Beverly Seay, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
