Gene Skiba appointed VP Federal Sector at FireEye

FireEye, Inc. has appointed Gene Skiba as vice president of the Federal Sector. The appointment highlights FireEye’s growing presence in aiding government agencies with cyber security solutions.

Skiba has over 15 years of experience in networking, telecommunications and security. He has held senior leadership positions with BlueCat Networks, F5 Networks, eEye Digital Security, Nortel Networks and Alteon Websystem.

Skiba said “Our nation’s cyber security is vulnerable to global cyber criminal and cyber espionage threats, as well as targeted malware-based cyber attacks that increasingly pose a danger to our critical infrastructure. FireEye’s unique technology fills the security gaps left by existing security solutions. The continued adoption of FireEye’s technology throughout the federal market and In-Q-Tel’s recent investment in FireEye is strong validation of the market opportunity for FireEye’s solutions.”
