News- Raytheon Delivers Radar System to Marines

ThalesRaytheonSystems announced the delivery of the first of 21 weapon locating radars to the US Marine Corps today. The system will help the Marines to detect and locate incoming enemy fire.

The version sent to the Marine Corps is similar to the version that has been produced for the US Army. The radar system accurately detects and ranges incoming mortar, rocket and artillery fire on the battlefield. The system allows the Marines to effectively engage hostile forces. The system uses a radar processor developed by ThalesRaytheonSystems.

Kim Kerry, CEO of ThalesRaytheonSystems’ US Operations, said “There is nothing more critical than the ability to target and counter threats on the battlefield. This technology is vital for the Marine Corps’ tactical capabilities as the force continues to grow.”
