Verizon Business Wins $140M Networx Universal Task Order

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has awarded Verizon Business with a $140 million Neworx Universal task order.

Under the contract, Verizon will manage the network services and help develop and manage the SSA Enterprise-Wide Network Infrastructure (SSANet). The company will also direct the transition to a modern IP platform based off of the SSANet multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) section.

“The Social Security Administration was an early believer in the transformational power of IP,” commented Verizon Federal group president, Susan Zeleniak. “The new contract establishes a solid foundation that will enable the SSA to meet the growing demand for services – the number of beneficiaries is expected to double over the next 10 years – and to help enhance the overall level of service the SSA provides to the American public.”
